About us

A warm welcome awaits you at the home of Liz and David Roberts. David was born and bred in Llangollen and is still known locally as "Dave AA " having worked for the Automobile Association for a number of years as a patrolman before leaving Llangollen to work abroad. David now runs his own Private Hire Airport Taxi service operating to all U.K. airports.
Liz hails from Derbyshire and they met whilst both were living in the Salisbury area. David was working for a large company in Salisbury, whilst Liz was already running her own very busy guest house close to Stonehenge.

The house and its facilities

New Ross bed and breakfast is set in a spectacularly beautiful location and enjoys stunning views over the Dee Valley, Llangollen International Pavilion and the Llangollen Canal and Marina, which is currently under construction and should be open later on in 2004.

We are situated at the foot of Castell Dinas Bran and only a brisk 3 minute walk to the field entrance of the Llangollen International Pavilion which is the home of the musical Eisteddfod held here every year in July.

The house is newly refurbished and has a magnificent south facing residents lounge leading out on to a balcony which overlooks all the above, sit out there on a balmy summers evening with a glass of wine or a beer and the cares of the world just disappear. Our breakfast room also enjoys the same outlook and is a very relaxing place to start your day. In summer the canal is a busy place and the experience of watching the boats turning whilst you eat breakfast is second to none.

There are three rooms in New Ross, two with double beds and one with twin beds, all of the rooms are en-suite and have their own individually co-ordinated decor, they also all have television, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and toiletries. We have a separate bathroom for those who like walking, climbing or any other outdoor pursuits and like to soak in a nice hot bath at the end of the day to ease those aching limbs.
Drying facilities are also available.

Evening meals are available by arrangement, although you may prefer to walk into the town where there is a great selection of good places to eat.

Please note that we are completely non smoking and do not take pets.

How to find us

Follow the A5 to Llangollen, at the main traffic lights turn right into Castle Street. Go down the hill through the town centre, cross the bridge and turn right, pass the Bridge End Hotel and turn left on to Wharf Hill cross the bridge over the canal, then turn left again into Dinbren Road. Continue on Dinbren Road, pass the school on your right and New Ross is the last house on the left hand side. It has along driveway, which runs alongside a playing field and from this angle it looks like a bungalow.
