The Wild Pheasant Hotel

Surrounded by 17 acres of its own pasture land with wild pheasants and grazing horses, this country hotel is still privately owned by a local family. The original 19th century building has been sympathetically extended, retaining the charm and comfort of a country house, whilst providing all the facilities of a modern hotel.

All 34 bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, TV, radio, direct dial telephone, hair dryer, trouser press and hospitality tray; most offer a spectacular view of Castell Dinas Bran, the Berwyn Mountains and the Vale of Llangollen.

The restaurant is renowned for dishes using fresh local produce; Welsh lamb, Dee salmon, home produced beef, local game, Welsh cheeses and seasonal specialities, complemented by an imaginative wine list. With seating for up to 100 people, parties can be catered for in the intimate atmosphere of oak timbered walls and cloisters, leading to a secluded setting, perfect for a romantic meal for two.

In the Glanafon Suite, wedding receptions for up to 200 guests can be arranged. Facilities are also available for large or small conference and business meetings.

Llangollen town, with its steam railway, craft and curio shops, is just a short walk away, along the bank of the River Dee.

Valle Crucis Abbey, Plas Newydd, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and many more place of interest are all nearby. The North Wales Coast, Snowdonia, Chester and Shrewsbury are all within easy driving distance.
