Above the Horseshoe pass climbs to 1300 feet heading towards Ruthin with the Ponderosa Cafe near the top. This is ideal walking country. The blue lake in the old quarry near the the Ponderosa is worth a visit while the more energetic can walk up the Llantysilio Mountain and enjoy fine views of the Vale of Clwyd as well as the Dee Valley.
